| LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT |
Dear Prospective Student:
Welcome to the College of the Muscogee Nation website. I hope you enjoy your visit as you travel through the maze of opportunities that the College of the Muscogee Nation has to offer.
First of all, I would like to welcome you to the great Muscogee (Creek) Nation and to encourage you to become involved in the Muscogee (Creek) Nation's effort to provide a comprehensive educational effort for its Muscogee citizens and to make others aware of the opportunities that the Muscogee (Creek) Nation has to offer. Education has always been a significant part of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation history. Muscogee (Creek) Nation Principal Chief A.D. Ellis and the National Council have expressed support through legislation on several occasions that education is a priority in the Muscogee (Creek) Nation.
Through the efforts of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation and many Muscogee citizens, the College of the Muscogee Nation was established to service Muscogee citizens and other citizens with the history, government, and culture of the Muscogee people as its primary focus. As a result, a collaborative effort with the Oklahoma State University system was established to address the establishment of the College of the Muscogee Nation. Thereafter, a variety of general education and tribally-related courses were offered at OSU-Okmulgee and OSU-Oklahoma City have been outstanding and rewarding for our students; we have true progressive collaborative efforts in process. In the future, we will become accredited through the North Central Association Higher Learning Commission.
I encourage you to consider the College of the Muscogee Nation as the college of your choice. Associate Degrees in Gaming, Tribal Services, and Native American Studies with specializations in Mvskoke Studies and Mvskoke Language are offered through a collaborative with OSU-Okmulgee and an Associate Degree in Police Science offered through a collaborative effort with OSU-Oklahoma City.
We have many exciting opportunities such as scholarships, the newly renovated Learning Resource Center for tutoring and computer services, and our recently renovated administrative facility for faculty and staff. The Learning Resource Center is located on the OSU-Okmulgee campus. Classes will continue to be conducted on the OSU-Okmulgee campus.
Lastly, for further information concerning the College of the Muscogee Nation, feel free to contact our staff at (918) 758-1480 or email me at pcoser@muscogeenation-nsn.gov.
